NIC BUSINESS CASE/RATIONAL

Smart Office

  • Enable Smart Office users to view NIC in force data from Smart Office interface (e.g. you have 10 lapse pending policies).

  • Integration and SSO (Single-Sign-On) to enable users to enable users to 'drill into' NIC to see details.

  • Makes NIC more accessible for Distributor users.

  • Adds value to a partnership with Smart Office as it enhances the value of Smart Office.

  • NIC will connect using an API and generate revenue from API subscription fees.

Salesforce

  • Enable Salesforce users to view NIC in force data from the Salesforce interface (e.g. you have 10 lapse pending policies.

  • Makes NIC more accessible for Carrier, Distributor and Agent users.

  • Adds value to a partnership with Salesforce as it enhances the value of Salesforce. which in turn will generate awareness about NIC.

  • NIC will connect using an API and generate revenue from API subscription fees.

  • Launch IXM multi-Carrier term quote solution from NIC to easily produce opportunities for conversions and cross-selling.

IXN Integration

In development

  • Saves Distributor and Agent users from re-keying information and producing errors.

  • IXN partnership will generate awareness about NIC.

  • NIC will connect using an API and generate revenue from API subscription fees.

  • Enable NIC notifications through SMS (text messages).

  • Premium features, all users will pay a subscription fee to use the SMS Module. 

Twillio Integration

Agent CRM Integration (Policy Owner Profiles)

  • Enables NIC users to upload client contact information from CRM systems and spreadsheets to populate client contact and profile information on NIC.

  • Required for NIC Consumer App invites.

  • Additional data and information that can be leveraged for data analysis.

Carrier Policy Services Integrations

  • Integrate NIC to Carrier policy service app (e.g. in force illustrations, address updates).

  • Makes NIC more valuable for all users, increases adoption and usage of the NIC platform.

  • Saves Carriers money (potentially).

API INITIATIVES

NIC BUSINESS CASE/RATIONAL

NIC does have a production API that currently supports 3rd parties that are using in force data to populate their apps and services.  The road map includes packaging APIs into usable components and making them available through user subscriptions

API Gateway

  • Secure site that enables users with an API Key to access the API Library and subscribe for NICs APIs.

  • Monthly subscription fee for Carriers, Distributors & Agents to access the API Gateway and Library.

Policy API

  • API that includes individual policy information that can be used to populate reports, forms, tools and apps (e.g. in force illustration tools, digital marketing platform).

  • API supports individual policies or lists of policies (NIC lists).

  • May or may not include Policy Owner PII depending on the use case (see Policy Owner API).

  • Makes NIC more valuable for all users, increases adoption and usage of the NIC platform.

  • Saves Carriers money (potentially).

Policy Owner API

  • API that includes PII data about the Policy Owner that can be used to populate a CRM or marketing automation solution.

  • API supports individual Policy Owners or lists of Policy Owners (NIC Lists).

  • Enables NIC users to leverage their client information for marketing and communications and to automate manual business processes (e.g. re-keying information into a CRM system, form, running an in force illustration or pricing a policy.

Agent Profile API

  • API that includes data about the Agent that can be used to populate a CRM or marketing automation solution.

  • Enables Carriers and Distributors to ensure their CRM and other systems have current information.

  • Enables Carriers, Distributors and 3rd parties to leverage NIC to authenticate an Agent.

Agent Book of Business API

  • API that includes all of an Agent's policies with information about each individual policy. The API can be used to populate apps and tools (e.g. CRM) for pricing or analyzing an Agent's book.

  • Enables Carriers, Distributors and 3rd parties to utilize an Agent's book to populate databases, tools, apps and services for analysis, and marketing reporting (e.g. business valuation, reporting, analytics).

Distributor Book of Business API

  • API that includes all of a Distributor's policies with information about each individual policy. The API can be used to populate apps and tools (e.g. CRM, AMS) for pricing or analyzing a Distributor's book.

  • Enables Carriers, Distributors and 3rd parties to utilize a Distributor's book to populate databases, tools, apps and services for analysis, and marketing reporting (e.g. business valuation, reporting, analytics).

Carrier Book of Business API

  • API that includes all of a Carrier's policies with information about each individual policy. The API can be used to populate 3rd party databases.

  • Enables Carriers, Distributors and 3rd parties to utilize a Carrier's book to populate databases, tools, apps and services for analysis, and marketing reporting (e.g. business valuation, reporting, analytics).
